Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; Master’s degree preferred, with minimum GPA of 3.00
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and components.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while upholding honesty and integrity.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop procurement strategies accordingly.
- Source and evaluate suppliers/vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers/vendors to obtain favorable terms and conditions.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions, specifications, and drawings to identify materials and components needed for projects.
- Coordinate with internal departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in mechanical engineering procurement.
- Create quotations & purchase order
